Anime and Cartoon Games

Last week, we introduced you to some more great games for 2 players, and this week, we’re back to exploring themes with Cartoon and Anime Games! Read on for examples of some great games straight out of their respective TV shows!

Archer: The Danger Zone! Board Game is a competitive game for 2 to 8 players that can be played in 40 minutes. You play as your favourite character from the show, and your goal is to gain an upper hand on your co-workers by insulting them, doing well on missions, and encountering random guest stars and secondary characters. Each character has a unique deck of cards, with quotes from the show. This game really takes the humor that’s at the core of the show and boils it down into a board game. If you’re looking for a comedic spy fix, give this game a try!

Attack on Titan: The Last Stand is a 1 versus many game for 2 to 5 players that can be played in 30 minutes. One player plays as a Titan, and the other players play as characters from the show. Just like in the series, the Titan attempts to kill off the other characters, and the rest of the players attempt to kill the Titan. Each round, the Titan chooses 2 attacks to play against the characters, and the characters move vertically up and down the titan, avoiding its attacks! The 3d nature of the game makes it feel like it’s popped straight out of the anime! Check this game out for some cool 3D components, and classic feeling player versus many game play!

Rick and Morty: Total Rickall Card Game is a cooperative game for 2 to 5 players that can be played in 30 minutes. In this humorous deduction game, players try to determine which characters are real and which are alien parasites masquerading as members of the family. While the core game is fully cooperative, there is an advanced competitive mode where players are randomly given secret roles as either humans or parasites. If you’re looking for a comedic game to remind you that nobody exists on purpose, check this one out! Seriously – check it out, it’s your series arc!

Naruto Shippuden Deck-Building Game is a competitive game for 2 to 5 players that can be played in 45 to 90 minutes. In this Cerberus Engine: Heroes based deck building game, you play as Naruto or one of his allies, and your goal is to defeat as many S-rank criminals as possible. To succeed, you’ll have to build strong synergies by gaining allies and equipment, and by mastering powerful techniques! Everything you need to play is right there in the box but you can combine this game with tons of other games that use the same engine, such as CapCom Street Fighter Deck-Building Game, for endless gameplay! If you’re looking for an intense ninja battle that has tons of potential for expansion, give this game a spin!
