Time to Jazz up Guelph!

The Round Table is proud to be a participant of The Guelph Jazz Festival’s “Jazz Around Town” this year!  We have an excellent line up of amazing musicians ready to entertain you.

Wednesday, September 13th – 8:30pm

Classic Live Music Trivia (RT) – Our live musician will play sample riffs from famous R&B, Soul and Jazz songs with a slight twist of Rock and Roll, Classics and more throughout the night and teams will compete to ‘guess the title and original artist’. The winning team will will a gift coin to the Round Table.

This event is free to attend and starts at 8:30pm!

Artist: Andrew Liorti – Solo pianist Andrew Liorti delves into the core of keyboard improvisation with his heartfelt solo work and compositions littered with emotional ambiguity. Based in Guelph, he is best known for composing and performing with former Guelph Jazz festival acts: Thunderbird and Manatee. This year he will lead a jazz piano sing-a-long and host improvisational open-mic and music trivia evenings at The Round Table Board Game Tavern, along with a showcase of video game music arrangements at Afterlife Video Game Lounge.

Thursday, September 14th – 8:30pm

The Sunday Afternoons (RT) – A dynamic duo from Guelph, two lovely musicians covering classics from the 90’s to the top 40. They’ll put a Jazz fest twist on it all. This event is free to attend.

Artist: Lynn Moffatt and Lindsay Cox formed The Sunday Afternoons in 2013 as a musical duo dedicated to performing folk, country, Celtic, gospel, and show tune classics for seniors. They perform with the objective to uplift and energize their audience with beautiful music. With differing, yet complimentary voices and musical style, the acoustic duo evolved to perform music from an even wider array of genres and have a song list of over 400 cover songs to choose from. They are highly responsive to the musical desires of their audience and thoughtfully design custom set-lists for special occasions, birthday/theme parties, holidays, weddings, and wide array of private and public gatherings.

Friday, September 15th – 9:00pm

New York Style Piano Sing-a-long (RT)The Round Table, along with musician and featured pianist, Andrew Liorti, will be bringing you a night to remember with a piano sing along! We’ll cover Broadway, Disney Classics, the very best in Classic Rock and Roll plus so much more! Put your request on a napkin like they do in NYC (we’ll provide the napkins and pens) and everyone just sing sing sing! 

This event is free to attend and starts at 9pm!

Saturday, September 16th – 9:00pm

Shepherd’s Knot (RT) – An amazing and eclectic band performing some classic music in an amazing Celtic way! All acoustic and all fit for a modern-medieval tavern complete with 32oz steins of beer!

This event is $5 to attend and starts at 9pm!

Artist: Shepherd’s Knot – Good music and good times are what tie us together. Shepherd’s Knot is a versatile group of musicians who enhance any event with their thoughtful interpretation and joyful delivery of traditional and folk music. Playing Music from Britain, Ireland and the East Cost of Canada, Angela Hammar-Schmidt (flute), Bob Downer (fiddle), Dave Pridham (guitar, vocals, and fiddle), and Sam Skelhorn (bodhran, guitar, and vocals) play out of Guelph, Kitchener-Waterloo, Fergus and surrounding areas, Shepherd’s Knot brings people together with the quality of their music.

The Round Table isn’t the only hot spot in town from the Lynnvander Entertainment Coalition, you can fine more shows at our sibling locations; Afterlife Video Game Lounge and The Royal Garrison Archery and Weapon Throwing Range.

The Round Table is kicking 2017 off with a new tradition!

On Saturday the 31st of December, The Round Table, along with musician and featured pianist, Andrew Liorti, will be bringing you a night to remember with a piano sing along!

What IS a ‘Sing Along’?

Stemming from a piano bar (also known as a piano lounge) which consists of a piano or electronic keyboard played by a professional musician, located in a cocktail lounge, bar, hotel lobby, office building lobby, restaurant, or on a cruise ship. In this case, it’s located at Castle Camelot a.k.a. The Round Table on 32 Essex Street in Guelph.

Patrons can request a song from the list of music provided by Mr. Liorti (unless he’s feeling adventurous) by writing the request down on a napkin and handing it to him. (we’ll provide the napkins). Then, our amazing Round Table patrons will sing as a group, without microphones! The night will be filled with special cocktails, great food and an atmosphere filled with fellowship and love!

PLUS, let’s not forget this is thee board game tavern of Guelph! So we should try and play a few games too!

The cost for this event is $90 which acts as a gift coin toward food and drink for that night only! We’ll provide champagne at midnight so everyone can throw a toast to another amazing year in the past and bring forward a new year! The event is going to have limited seating, so book quickly and book by buying your tickets below and we’ll enter you into our reservation system!
